Bonding

Hand-Drawn Pet Portraits and Animal Art
Capturing the emotion, enduring bond and personality of pets with coloured pencils, to create lasting memories. Wildlife commissions also undertaken.
When I was a child, I loved drawing but never pursued it as a career. My working life was spent mainly in HR and after retraining at KLC School of Design, I began working for a local interior design company near Alton (Hampshire). I spent 12 happy years there and took early retirement in August 2022.
With spare time on my hands (and having always been creative), I invested in some watercolours and began painting botanicals – until I discovered coloured pencils! With coloured pencils I can create the realism I love, and being able to combine that with my love of animals is a match made in heaven for me!
Mostly I do commissioned pet portraits but I’m happy to accept commissions for other animals. I love being able to capture the special bond that exists between an owner and their pet. In particular, I enjoy drawing memorial portraits, and having drawn two of my own, I know the comfort they can bring.
Art Groups / Societies
I am a member of the UK Colour Pencil Society and the Association of Animal Artists.
