I am an amateur artist in the truest sense...I paint and create for the love of it. A course in acrylics at West Dean about ten years ago set me on a path of exploration in paint, charcoal, mixed media and collage. It's a continual 'work' in progress that brings joy and peace and the chance to lose myself for hours... and get very messy.

About The Artist

I took up painting seriously when I retired and moved to Dorset in 2009. I attend art lessons at the Studio Art School in Upwey once a week.

I enjoy painting landscapes most of all. I have travelled a great deal and take photos wherever I go. As well as Europe, I have visited Japan, India and Canada and I have painted many scenes from these countries.

I work from my studio in Weymouth and am fortunate to have the South West Coast Path virtually on my doorstep. This year, when travel has been limited, I have painted many more local scenes. A recent trip to Scotland provided additional material.

I like to experiment with various media and colours and have completed a number of abstract and semi-abstract works. If I succeed in painting a picture that is pleasing to the eye, I am satisfied.
