Celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. In July 2005, following the Fleet Review by HM the Queen, a spectacular re-enactment of the battle took place, including thousands of fireworks, at this famous Hampshire landmark.

Mahmood is an artist living in Portsmouth by the sea in Hampshire.
Originally from Iran, he paints scenes from across the south coast of England, with unique and original interpretation, using both oil and acrylic with a variety of subjects he loves.
He puts his passion and inspiration into his art to give you delicate, fine, bright, happy, warm paintings, to cheer you up any time you look at them!
Now, he works in his studio in Petersfield, Hampshire, which is the perfect place to paint and enjoy the scenery.

Original Paintings in Oils and Acrylic and 3D Works
Always enthusiastic about drawing, Mike started by copying from comic books at the age of about seven or eight.
Pursuing further education in art was not encouraged at school (or home) so he studied zoology, sometimes known as the ‘artist’s science’ (possibly because of the amount of drawing involved).
A long career in computer software development didn’t allow for too much artistic progress, so Mike is now making up for lost time. He is fairly prolific and generally paints subjects based on places that he knows and enjoys, using either oils or acrylics.
Although his paintings are fairly figurative, his inclination is towards more abstraction. Unfortunately, the left side of the brain doesn’t always share this ambition and has an undue influence on the results.

Landscapes and Seascapes
Based in Chalkhill Studio, Oliver's Battery, Winchester, Hampshire, Karen originally trained and worked as a nurse. She always painted in her spare time.
Karen achieved her lifetime dream when she had the opportunity to study Fine Art at Winchester School of Art and Design. She has exhibited throughout the UK and beyond. Her love for painting continues to develop and her work is often expressive, dreamlike and captures a sense of place. Karen enjoys working across media, especially cold wax medium. Her work uses colour, texture and form to capture semi-abstract landscapes and seascapes. The texture is created in layers and she experiments with many different mark-making tools. She explores painting from a deeper level, often relating to personal, visual experiences of her everyday life.
Karen’s painting has a more intuitive approach, which she develops through self-reflection and spending time walking her dogs. She works in sketchbooks on site and completes the paintings in her studio.
“Landscapes and skies are often overlooked, they surround us and yet can be missed as we are caught up in our busy lives. I sketch on site; I like the idea of paintings being part memory and part real. I have an intuitive approach to art, preferring to explore the colours of dreams rather than reality”
They become part real and part of my dreamscape. They allow me to free myself from the reality of the everyday.”
