About The Artist

It wasn’t until the age of 40, that Irene was at last able to follow her dream; to study Fine Art and later to become an Art Tutor.

Soon after completing her studies, she co-founded the AVA Art Group, formed to encourage Art into the community, which ran for many years. Irene’s own Art began to evolve.

Art Groups / Exhibitions

Irene was offered the chance to exhibit in London; Waterloo Gallery and The Mall Galleries.

She was and is a member of various Art Groups and continues to exhibit.

Later, further afield, she and her husband purchased a cave-house in Andalusia, Spain, with a studio, where she paints when on holiday, exhibiting locally there.

Please email Irene for art & commissions, quoting "Hampshire Artists Query".

In 2012 She created a series of work for her Solo Exhibition, celebrating the Olympics, based on “movement”. Irene’s techniques have continued to evolve and now, she explores everything around her. Her unique representation of portraiture, movement techniques and quirky art such as “food on a plate”, have brought her so much pleasure and others too.

About The Artist

Evelyn Bartlett gained a degree in graphic design at Kingston. She moved to Devon afterwards and soon turned freelance, producing illustrations and designs for
publishers, advertisers, hotels and holiday parks.

After raising a family and living in South Devon for over 30 years, she moved to Hampshire and has been painting full-time, reviving a style she only touched on as a
student, using gouache. This strong, distinctive application owes everything to her graphic ‘roots’ and has become her signature.

The past twelve months have seen her experiment with oils and acrylic, to try out larger works; watch this space!

Evelyn has had successful exhibitions at venues in Hampshire, Dorset and Devon. She still owns a house in Exeter and frequently returns to the West Country for business and pleasure.

A Perfect Line

‘This painting was completed for coursework, when I studied Illustration for a year at Kingston University in Surrey, UK. It was to illustrate a scene from Dylan Thomas’ ‘Under Milk Wood’. My Granddad posed as the vicar who has just thought of such a brilliant line in his poetry that he doesn’t look where he is dipping his pen.’

About The Artist

Born in 1985, Will Rochfort grew up in Lymington on the south coast of England and, apart from his time studying Illustration and Fine Art at Kingston University, he has lived there all his life. Since graduating in 2008 his focus has been primarily oil painting. Will’s main reason for becoming an artist is from a passion for creativity.

“There is rarely any strong meaning or message behind my work – narrative takes a large role because I like the work to be emotive through what is being portrayed, but creativity is the driving force behind all of my paintings”

From 2008 to 2010 Will Rochfort worked as an Official Artist for the 2012 London Olympics, working with Olympic Gold Medalists, producing paintings in support of the Games and its associated charities.

As well as completing several portrait commissions, Will Rochfort is always searching for new ideas for paintings and usually finds this in books or cinema. With influences ranging from Degas to Rockwell, to the films of Steven Spielberg, it is narrative that really interests Will and he always aims to have a story within his work.

“I am a very visual painter and with the public being my target audience over the art establishment, I always aim to depict scenes that, through the characters portrayed, I hope people can relate to and enjoy”

Ice Cold Under the Skin

‘I love Film Noir movies. This painting is completely character-driven and the narrative is so strong that it couldn’t survive without it, but I don’t mind that because the characters are so strong. All thanks go to my friends, who posed once again and put their all into it. The painting was a lot of fun and developed itself as it went along.

I got three quarters of the way through another version of this painting (all in black and white), before abandoning it and starting again, because the composition wasn’t working. The new design progressed so much better that I didn’t have to work very hard at all.’
