About The Artist

I’m a full time artist based in Lindford, Hampshire, working pastels.

At at the age of 15, one of my artworks was exhibited at the Tate in London and this encouraged me to go on to study at the Norwich School of Art (now Norwich University of the Arts).

After a series of corporate roles and running my own business, I have returned full time to my original passion - creating detailed, realistic wildlife artwork and accepting commissions for equine and pet portraits.

I have a passion for all animals and they have always been a huge part of my life. I particularly enjoy using pastels as they allow you to build up the layers and intensity of colour, before finally adding all the details. I try to capture the spirit of the animal, to really bring the piece to life.

About The Artist

"I am an English Artist based in Hampshire. I studied Fine Art at the Slade and at London University for my Art Teachers Diploma
I have exhibited widely across the UK.

My inspiration is from my surroundings, the natural world and the changes of light. Painting intuitively, using different materials, I aim to capture a mood or an energy."

Clarissa is in demand as a lecturer and tutor, demonstrating various techniques and medium including pastels, watercolour, acrylic and oil, to groups and art societies throughout Hampshire and beyond. Please contact her directly for more information and availability.
