About The Artist

I am based in Hampshire, a county full of variety for the artist, with coasts and marinas, ancient towns, the New Forest, and the start of the South Downs. There is plenty here to fire the imagination. Regular visits to the West Country, especially Somerset, inspire with it's own landscape and coastline.

My background in textiles has been a big influence, giving me a continuing interest in pattern and texture, resulting in the use of collage in much of my work. Favourite subjects vary from wildlife in a slightly mystical setting, to the bustle of urban spaces, or boats jostling in a local marina.
I hope that experimenting and trying new things will keep the work fresh, while sketching on location provides a break from working on finished pieces and is great for gathering information.

About The Artist

Wendy Jelbert has been a teacher for over 35 years, a commissioned author of 41 art instructional books and has made 12 art DVDs for Television and the commercial world.

She is a demonstrator and lecturer to Art Societies and has taught in many of the top residential colleges including West Dean College, Missenden Abbey, London, and Dedham Hall Essex. She is an accredited demonstrator for Daler Rowney, Faber Castell, Caran D'ache and Winsor and Newton.

She finds that nature in all its guises and moods is a vital stimulus for her work. Travelling abroad and widely in the British Isles, has enriched her sphere of subject matter, colours and atmospheric effects.
She is pleased to accept commissions in Watercolours, Acrylics, Pen, Line and Wash or Mixed Media, on most subjects, such as your home, children in Rock Pools, or a favourite village, beauty spot or Coastal Scene.
She comes from an artistic family where her mother, grandmother, husband, children and grandchildren are also painters; some professional and some prize winners!

During Wendy's career as a professional artist she has exhibited for the Women’s Society of Artists, The International Floral Society of Artists and The Society of Acrylic Painters. These exhibitions have been country-wide, including The Mall and Westminster Galleries, London, The First View Gallery, Stourhead, John Bourne Gallery, Reigate and St. Ives Society of Artists. She is delighted to have won many prizes throughout her career including awards at the S.W.A. Westminster, London, The Wessex Gallery, The Bursledon Art Show and The Lee Gallery, Romsey.

About The Artist

A keen landscape artist from an early age, Nic gained his first commission – an epic 3 metre tableau of historic scenes of home town Havant in oils. This painting which is still on show at the council's offices was featured on the BBC’s Catalogue of Publicly-Owned Art (now artuk.org).

Over the next decade, working mostly from life, Nic attempted to capture the landscape around him, even when that landscape was the city. At this time, watercolours proved the ideal medium, being small and portable.

In 2003 Nic returned to oils and painted two large canvasses featuring figures for the first time. The painting ‘Boys in Dune’ was snapped up on its first day of exhibition, and remains Nic’s most popular seller, being reproduced onto canvas. At this time a short series of landscapes in pastels was created (2003-2004).

A decade of oil painting followed before a sense of rediscovery in watercolour.

Digital Art

Working as a graphic designer provides the tools and knowledge to create digital art. Nic’s works on screens are printed using the industry’s best possible materials, creating a valuable ‘original print’. The iPad range is really terribly popular and ideal for commissions, with its unique hybrid mannerism.
